Felt is great
material for craft projects espacially in the winter. The materialitself gives
the sense of warmness and cosiness, as it is made
from wool. There are a lot of DIY projects around the net about how to make unique
decoration for the most of the holydays, all by yourself.
I warmly recommend the projects for Christmas
ornaments. These are easy to do and will give uniqueness to the Christmas
decoration. You can use simple shapes and use your imagination to make them
special. For example you can cut out the shape of a Christmas tree from pressed felt about 3 mm thick and use
different ways in order to make it colorful and pretty. One option is to the
cut the same shape and connect them with simple stitch, or may be if you feel
like you can make some embroidery that will give style to your Christmas
project. Another option is to use the needle felting technique in order to make
shapes or add another color to your ornament.

All you have to do is to cut 2 identical shapes from
pressed felt. Don’t forget that the decoration of the two sides is best to make
before you will connect the two parts. You can choose to use embroidery, stitch
another piece(s) of pressed felt, stick or sew beads or other decorative
objects, or use needle felting technique. After finishing with the decoration
of the two shapes stitch them to one another, preferably using the blanket stitch
and don’t forget to fill your new toy-ornament with cotton.

I prefer to use only stitching and no glue, even it’s
much slower, for my point of view, the results are prettier.
